Your own object with purpose, depth and meaning. From the first question to the finished piece.

STDIO OBJECT

Phase 01 | Concept

Look closely: When is it needed?

The moment someone reaches for it, and the state they are in.

What it should set in motion, and what it has to do for that.

What the material says before anyone reads what is written on it.

What of it belongs to you, and what your customers recognize in it.

You receive:
– The concept: moment, function, meaning
– Material samples
– Sketches of use

Phase 02 | Prototype

Checking in: Does the hypothesis actually work?

The form follows from the material and the way it is made.
The prototype goes where it is needed, into the hands of the people it is meant for.

You receive:
– The prototype
– Production documents for you or your manufacturer

Phase 03 | Production

Make: How is it produced in series?

Pilot run, series, shipping. What I can make in the stdio, I make myself.
For everything else, I work with manufacturers I know and check.

You receive:
– The object, in the agreed series
– Delivery to your door
– The rights of use for the object
– The option to reorder or adapt it with me

  • Meaning – it belongs to you.

Form, material and colour come from your place, your brand, your people.

A guest or customer recognises your house in it. That's why it can't be replaced.

  • Purpose – it has a job to do.

Your object doesn't just sit there. It belongs to a moment that repeats: arriving, pausing, closing the day. If it has no place in everyday life, we don't design it.

Not an object that makes everything easy. One that asks for a gesture – and stays with you because of it.

  • Depth – it grows out of conversation.

It starts with your question, not a template.
We listen, sketch, build prototypes and discard what doesn't hold.

Form, material und color from your brand, your place, your people.

Anyone who walks into your place will ask you:

How did anyone come up with this?

That stays between us.

And where can I get one?

Only at your place.

Questions

Where does BAL DESIGN end, where does STDIO OBJEKT begin?

BAL DESIGN: New form, same function.

STDIO OBJECT: New function, new object.

What do I need to bring?

One question is enough. Your place, your brand, an idea. We find the rest in the concept.

How long does it take?

Nine to twelve weeks until production, depending on the question and the effort involved.

Up to three conversations per phase, ideally one of them on site with you.

Only 3D printing?

The process follows the object.

Printing, casting, handwork, or a manufacturer I choose for it.

What does it cost?

Each phase is priced separately. We agree on the range in the first conversation.

Will my idea stay confidential?

Yes. In writing before the first conversation, if you wish.

The shorter path
